entropy III

entropy III explores the concept of time with a personal approach, showing a 4-week performance in which I separated my hair into "past" (dark) and "future" (gray) sections. This process demonstrates how the entropy of a system can decrease over time, even though the overall entropy increases according to the second law of thermodynamics. Living organisms, like humans, have the unique ability to decrease entropy through processes such as separating ore from soil or metal from ore.

This performance could only happen at a specific point in time, when some of my hair is still dark while other parts have turned gray. This reflects the idea that many mixing processes are most complex in the middle of the process before they reach equilibrium.

The video flows smoothly and highlights the imperceptibility of changes over a human lifetime
